Definition of a Path and Path Label
A Path is the line that you see connect two Action Boxes in the Customer Journey Mapping tool.
- Paths can be created between a green node and a red node.
- The green node represents the start of the connection, and the red node represents the end of the connection.
- Paths tells traCXio that the two actions are connected in sequence.
- Each Path can be labelled to help the reader better understand the connection of the two action boxes.
Path Labels are very effective in describing the outcome of a Decision Box, and this is the most common use.
Note: A Path may only exist when two Action Boxes have been created.
Create a Path
- In the traCXio app, select Customer Journeys on the top horizontal menu.
- Select the Customer Journey you wish to edit.
- Place your cursor on top of the green node of the Action Box that you want to connect from.
You will note that the cursor changes to a + to represent you are ready to create a Path. - Click and drag to connect the green node of the Action Box to the red node of the Action Box you want to connect to.
- As you drag, (without releasing) the cursor, you will see a line following the cursor. This line is the Path and connects Action Boxes.
- You will see a Path has been created that connects the two action boxes, with an arrow pointing to the red node. This arrow represents the direction of the customer journey.
Add a Label
Note: Not all Paths require a Label
- In the traCXio app, select Customer Journeys on the top horizontal menu.
- Select the Customer Journey you wish to edit.
- Hover your cursor over the Path and double-click the Path.
- A text box appears asking you to insert the Path Label.
- Insert your Label, noting short and concise terms are best applied.

- You have now created a Label for your selected Path.
- Note that as you click on drag an Action Box to move that Action Box around the canvas, the Label and Path will stay connected.
Delete a Path
- In the traCXio app, select Customer Journeys on the top horizontal menu.
- Select the Customer Journey you wish to edit.
- Hover your cursor over the Path and double-click the Path.
- A text box appears, and this will include a red Delete Path button.
